joke of the day

Put about 100 bricks in some particular order in a closed room with an openwindow.
Then send 2 or 3 candidates in the room and close the door.

Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours and then analyze the situation.

If they are counting the bricks. Put them in the accounts department.
If they are recounting them.. Put them in auditing.
If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks, Put them in engineering.
If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order..Put them inplanning.
If they are throwing the bricks at each other. Put them in operations
If they are sleeping. Put them in security. I
f they have broken the bricks into pieces. Put them in information technology.
If they are sitting idle. Put them in human resources.
If they say they have tried different combinations, yet not a brick has been moved, Put them in sales.
If they have already left for the day. Put them in marketing.
If they are staring out of the window. Put them on strategic planning

reading the joke above, im laughing to myself... i belong to sales & marketing but of course im not off for the day even at eight PM. working my ass off. never been so hard working and im getting annoyed that the work is endless. so i guess i am more appropriately classified as operations!

gambling culture

for the first time in my life i see $100,000.00 cash.
one slab of 1 thousand notes.
that's how they gamble. (the 100K one of the player's capital)
ridiculous you may say.

welcome to my new office's culture.

it is CNY and the people here gamble a lot.
every day there is a make-shift table during lunch.
i never had the luck with gambling but i do like the kick of it.
but i have so much work to do, i'll give the game a miss.
small bets are $50-$1000.
VIP table bets are $1000-$7000 per bet.
whatever the case, this is an eye-opener for me.
never in my life did i see so much cash.
and this is entertainment!

will i become like this one day?
if i do, please kick my ass.

Two Thousand & SIX

Dear people,

how are you?

i am so very busy at work that i dont get to see the sun. thirteen hours a day at work is no joke let alone unhealthy. look at my waist line and i was shocked i am fat.

went taipei and it was not fun for me. ok, to be fair, i think i was just too moody to enjoy it. firstly, it was cold. me hot babe cant take 13 deg. plus the silly thing about having to shower twice a day is killing me. it is a singaporean thing. cleanliness. hence i was down with fever. was just too gloom to enjoy much. but not bad la, bought most stuff for my dad. went to taipei 101, went luxy-- their biggest coolest disco. watched machi, one memeber of F4 and aisha performed. saw no-no in person. *too damn shy to asked for a photo together. permed my hair. (yes got to do it there, haha. it is different) ate smelly toufu, ate o-wa-mee-sua. took a teeny bit of a fearsome-factor pig's blood clogged into a cake. almost puke. what else... fisherman village was nice. ximen ding - did barbie doll eye lashes. looked fabulous but not practical cos got to maintain. humm.. maybe i should go find it in singapore. it really makes u look like a doll. really.
yang-wa-wa.

so much so for my O-K holiday. the most valuable thing i gained from this trip is to renew an old friendship. you know, sometimes when friendship are age-old and you dont spend enough time talking-hearts, we are really not what our friends think we are. any relationship needs updating, re-making, make-over to be up-dated. so i've dedicated this year to do just that. hence if i pop by to your house for dinner or just to hang-around, you'll know that im just updating. ok folks?

will show you most taiwan pix later on...

CNY. yeah. it is no new year till CNY.

it's such a big thing that there's no newspaper on CNY day-one.
i often dont understand what's the big deal but it is big deal anyway. reunion.

we had 20 tiny tiny tiny fishes in our pond. they are so small, they are like this comma , just so small,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, twenty of them. so cute.
